State your arguments or position on one of the above given issues and then discuss with your partner. For the arguments, you can use some expressions like these:

A. Passive smoking is a silent killer
Student A: Do you know that passive smoking is more dangerous than activesmoking?

Student B: I know, but I think it is not as dangerous as people say it is.

Student B: Yes. However, the dangers of passive smoking are not as much as we think. Passive smoking has a risk of heart disease and heart attack, but this danger can be minimized by avoiding active smokers.
Student A: Yes. But if passive smokers are always exposed to cigarette smoke, then the negative impact on health is worse than active smokers.
Student B: Do you have an elaboration of your opinion?
Student A: Passive smoker has a risk of heart disease and heart attack. Because there is damage to blood vessels caused by unfiltered cigarette smoke.
Student B: Then, what differentiates the risks from active smokers?
Student A: Cigarettes generally have toxin filters in them, so active smokers have less risk. Meanwhile, passive smokers inhale smoke and toxins that are not filtered.

Student A: English is spoken as an international language in more than 90 percent of countries. If we go abroad, we will use English to facilitate communication.
Student B: What is the function of learning English for students like us?
Student A: English is often used in conveying information and knowledge at school. So, Indonesian students will have broader insights if they can speak English and regularly use it to find information. In international forums, communications are conducted in English.
