5. Future simple tense
Direct speech: "I will meet you at the station."Reported speech: He said that he would meet her at the station.
Direct speech: "They will travel to Europe next month." (Mereka akan bepergian ke Eropa bulan depan)Reported speech: He told me that they would travel to Europe the following month. (Dia memberitahu saya bahwa mereka akan bepergian ke Eropa bulan berikutnya)
Direct speech: "He will not be able to attend the meeting." (Dia tidak akan bisa menghadiri pertemuan tersebut)Reported speech: They said that he would not be able to attend the meeting. (Mereka mengatakan bahwa dia tidak akan bisa menghadiri pertemuan tersebut)
6. Modal verbs
Direct speech: "I can speak Spanish."Reported speech: She said that she could speak Spanish.
Direct speech: "He may not come to the party." (Mungkin dia tidak datang ke pesta)Reported speech: They told me that he might not come to the party. (Mereka memberitahu saya bahwa mungkin dia tidak akan datang ke pesta)
Direct speech: "We must finish the report by Friday." (Kita harus menyelesaikan laporan tersebut pada hari Jumat)Reported speech: He said that they had to finish the report by Friday. (Dia mengatakan bahwa mereka harus menyelesaikan laporan tersebut pada hari Jumat)
Perlu diperhatikan bahwa dalam reported speech pronoun juga sering berubah tergantung pada konteksnya.
Misalnya, "I" akan berubah menjadi "she/he", "we" akan berubah menjadi "they", "my" akan berubah menjadi "her/his", dan seterusnya.
