Jawaban Soal Grammar Review

Task 1:

Refer back to the text and find at least five sentences written in passive voices. Change the sentences into active voices.  

1.  Passive voice: The guide told us that the first thing to enjoy in Niagara Falls is visiting Cave of the Winds.

Active voice: The guide told us, "The first thing to enjoy in Niagara Falls is visiting Cave of the Winds."

2. Passive voice: They said that the waterproof clothing and sandals are provided when we visit the Cave of Winds.

Active voice: They said, " The waterproof clothing and sandals are provided when we visit the Cave of Winds."

3. Passive voice: The reporter stated that the second charm is Maid of the Mist Boat Tour. It is a
world-famous scenic boat tour of the American and Canadian Falls for about a half-hour ride.

Active voice: The reporter stated, "Tge second charm is Maid of the Mist Boat Tour. It is a world-famous scenic boat tour of the American and Canadian Falls for about a half-hour ride."

4. Passive voice: The travel agency said that we can enjoy the most powerful and involving film experience that brings reality to life on a 45 foot screen in Niagara Adventure Theater.

Active voice: The travel agency said, "You can enjoy the most powerful and involving film experience that brings reality to life on a 45 foot screen in Niagara Adventure Theater."

5. Passive voice: The staff of Niagara Adventure Theater announced that we, the foreign tourists, can enjoy the theater hourly and free multi-language headsets are made available.

Active voice: The staff of Niagara Adventure Theater announced, "The foreign tourists, can enjoy the theater hourly and free multi-language headsets are made available."

Task 2:

Refer back to the text again and find five sentences written in active voices. Change the sentences into passive voices.

1. Active voice: Our teacher said, "Niagara waterfall located in ainternational border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the USA’s state of New York."

Passive voice: Our teacher said that Niagara waterfall located in ainternational border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the USA’s state of New York.

2. Active voice: Rida said in the presentation, "Niagara Falls are formed from the three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls."

Passive voice: Rida said in the presentation that Niagara Falls are formed from the three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls.

3. Active voice: Mother said, "We should go to Niagara Science Museum to learn the preservation and appreciation of old science instruments and philosophical apparatus."

Passive voice: Mother said that you should go to Niagara Science Museum to learn the preservation and appreciation of old science instruments and philosophical apparatus.

4. Active voice: Father shouted excitedly, "Look! It's Princess Diana's wax statue at Niagara’s Wax Museum of History."

Passive voice: Father shouted excitedly to us to look at Princess Diana' wax statue at Niagara’s Wax Museum of History.

5. Active voice: The staff announced, "The Rainbow Air Helicopter Tour is cancelled due to bad weather."

Passive voice: The staff announced that the Rainbow Air Helicopter Tour is cancelled due to bad weather."
