Tujuan procedure text adalah menerangkan mengenai cara membuat dan melakukan sesuatu yang ditulis secara berurutan.
Contohnya adalah How to Cook Instant Noodle (cara memasak mi instan) dan How to Fold the Clothes (cara melipat baju).
Sekarang, kita buka buku halaman 125 dan mengerjakan soal Reading Task 5, ya! Sebelum mengerjakan soal, kita harus membaca teks di halaman 122 berjudul How to Breed Leopard Geckos.

Answer: Seven steps.

1. Get a male and female leopard gecko.
2. Prepare a large cage for the male and female to live in together.
3. Get the incubator ready for the eggs and provide a lay box.
4. Ready the laying box to put in the cage.
5. Place the eggs in the incubation medium.
6. Observe the developing embryos.
7. Do you think the steps have to be put in order? Why do you think so?
Answer: Yes, because they indicate the procedure that we have to follow.
8. What should we do if we want to have male or female leopard geckos?
Answer: If we want female geckos, we have to set the incubation temperature 80 to 85 degrees. If we want males, we have to set the temperature 90 to 95 degrees. If we want a mix genders, we have to set the temperature in the middle.
