Untuk menyebut aktivitas sehari-hari, kita menggunakan simple present tense.

Simple present tense dalam Bahasa Inggris digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian saat ini, sedang berlangsung, atau kebiasaan rutin.

Rumus simple present tense adalah Subyek + verb 1 (kata kerja 1) + obyek atau Subyek + to be (am, is are) + obyek.

Selain itu, kita juga belajar grammar atau kaidah bahasa berupa penggunaan modal verben berupa can dan could.

Can dan could dapat diartikan seperti dapatkah atau bisakah dalam Bahasa Indonesia.

Nah, untuk mempelajari kaidah bahasa, kita buka halaman 178-179 di buku pelajaran Bahasa Inggris kelas 7 kurikulum Merdeka, yuk!

Section 4 – Language Focus

In online learning, sometimes our teacher requests us to do something.

For example, “turn off the microphone”, “switch on the camera”, or “be quiet”.

The teacher might say: “Could you …” or “Could you please …” at the beginning of his/her request.

Sometimes, you will hear another expression that is “Can you …” or “Can you please …”

Can you... dan could you... memiliki arti yang sama, yaitu bisakah kamu... atau dapatkah kamu....

Namun, can you... digunakan untuk situasi non formal atau sesama teman, sedangkan could you... umumnya digunakan untuk situasi formal.
