Pada latihan writing bahasa Inggris, tak jarang kita berlatih menulis teks formal. Macam-macam conjunction yang ada di teks formal antara lain: unless, therefore, however, nevertheless, in addition, despite, in spite of, dan lain-lain.
Macam-Macam Conjunction Teks Formal Bahasa Inggris
1. Unless = Kecuali
Contoh: I wouldn't eat that food unless I was really hungry.
2. Therefore = Karena itu
Contoh: Paul wasn't a fan of loud music; therefore, he always tried to find a quiet spot in the house to read.
3. However = Namun
Contoh: Jason wanted to play football tonight; however, his injury kept him on the sidelines.
4. Nevertheless = Namun demikian
Contoh: The math test was very difficult; nevertheless, she earned a good grade.

5. In addition = Selain itu
Contoh: In addition to basketball, I'm good at volleyball.
6. Despite = Meskipun
Contoh = Despite the rain, we enjoyed the festival.
7. In spite of = Meskipun
Contoh: In spite of the pain in his leg, he completed the marathon.
8. Whereas = Sedangkan/Tetapi
Contoh: My sister is allergic to dogs, whereas I'm a dog lover.
9. While = Sedangkan
Contoh: The phone rang while I was doing the dishes.
10. Since = Sejak/Karena

11. Not only ... but also = Tidak hanya ... tapi juga
Contoh: Not only does the new teacher speak French, but he also speaks Spanish.
12. Either ... or = Baik ... or ATAU Entah ... atau
Contoh: I've saved some money to buy either a DVD player or an MP3 player.
13. Until = Sampai
Contoh: Stir the dough until it forms a ball.
14. If = Jika
Contoh: If Sally is late again I will be mad.
15. So = Jadi
Contoh: Today is Sunday, so the school is closed.
